Another son of Chicago Bears former coach Mike Ditka gets an intoxicated driving arrest in Deerfield an area outside Chicago.
Mike E. Ditka, 49, was traveling from downtown when police apprehended him on Waukegan and Lake Cook roads. An officer observed that he was driving without a front license plate and attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver did not stop. Another police commander arrived in the area and clocked Ditka driving 50 in a 40 mph zone.
When that officer pulled him over he noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. Ditka was asked to exit the vehicle and appeared to be unsteady on his feet. He had to hold onto his vehicle to balance himself. A preliminary test revealed that his blood alcohol level was .016.
With the assistance of a Chicago DUI attorney, Ditka may be able to have his charges reduced. Ditka was asked to take another blood test after he was arrested but refused. His brother Michael Ditka was arrested for a DUI earlier this year.
A DUI charge can have a serious impact on a person’s life. Alcohol affects a person’s ability to make reasonable decisions. By seeking out the counsel of a Chicago DUI lawyer, the impact of this type of charge can be minimized. Facing a court without the representation of a Chicago DUI attorney is unwise and any person who wants help with their case should get it.
