Haylee Donathan Found Safe at The Twelve Tribes

A missing 4-year-old Ohio girl was found safe at a messianic Christian organization in San Diego County, California nearly a month after she disappeared.

Haylee Donathan was found with her mother Candace Watson and her mother’s boyfriend, fugitive and sex offender Robbie Potter, at The Twelve Tribes ranch.

Authorities stormed the isolated communal farm Tuesday afternoon after receiving a tip from a member of the Twelve Tribes organization. Ranch members became suspicious of Watson and Potter after a former guest of the organization saw billboards about Donathan’s disappearance.

Ranch member Kevin Carlin said Watson, Potter and Haylee seemed like a happy family. "We thought they were a couple," Carlin said. "We thought she was their child. We treated them as guests. They helped us and we provided for their basic needs. They seemed nice enough."

Carlin also described the raid saying, “It was pretty tense because there were armed men on our property and helicopters overhead. The couple didn't resist arrest, and it went smoothly.”

Watson, 24, and Haylee disappeared with Potter, 27, on May 28 after he walked away from a halfway house in Mansfield, Ohio. Potter had served nearly 2 years in prison for sexual battery involving two children under 9.

Both Potter and Watson were arrested in Tuesday’s raid. They are expected to be sent back to Ohio to face charges. Haylee is expected to be returned to her grandmother.
