SWAT Teams Raid World War Z Set, Seize Assault Rifles

Dozens of unauthorized weapons on the Hungary set of World War Z were seized in a raid led by anti-terrorism authorities on Monday. Us Weekly reports 84 weapons, the majority of which were automatic assault rifles, were recovered from an airport warehouse in Budapest. The fully function weapons were supposed to be used in World War Z, which stars Brad Pitt, Matthew Fox and Mireille Enos.

Hajdu Janos and Zsolt Bodnar, the director and deputy director of Hungary's Anti-Terrorism Unit, told Us Weekly that the weapons are “highly illegal to transport even if they were to be used as stage guns.”

"We are interrogating witnesses now, getting closer to solving the firearms story,” Janos and Bodnar added.

According to insiders, a mistake was made on paperwork concerning the guns. Apparently the documents said the guns were non-functional when they are actually fully functional.

Neither Pitt nor his production company, Plan B Entertainment, has commented.
