Jack Manigault, the older brother of Celebrity Apprentice star Omarosa Manigault, was murdered early Sunday morning in his Ohio home. Authorities say Manigault, 40, was shot in the head by his girlfriend’s 22-year-old ex-boyfriend, Marco Cardenas.
Manigault and his girlfriend, who has not been identified, were asleep in their Youngstown home when Cardenas broke in and entered the bedroom around 2 a.m. He fired several shots before fatally wounding Manigault, who attempted to run from the room. No one else was killed or wounded. Cardenas was arrested shortly after the shooting.
Omarosa released a statement thanking everyone for their support. “We thank everyone for their amazing outpouring of support surrounding the tragic death of my brother Jack…Right now it is an extremely difficult time and we ask that you allow family privacy to grieve and make all necessary arrangements…” she said.
“My brother was so special to us! We loved him unconditionally and we were so proud of him when he turned his life around and gave his life to God two years ago,” Omarosa added.
Jack Manigault had a criminal record that included aggravated assault, obstructing official business, drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon and illegal possession of a weapon.
