Los Angeles based Commercial Meat Co. has issued a recall for nearly 400,000 pounds of ground beef that is possibly contaminated with E. coli. The bacteria was found in a routine test conducted by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The recall includes approximately 377,775 pounds of ground beef products produced between September 7, 2011 and October 6, 2011, and packaged as bulk ground beef, beef patties, ground beef taco and ground beef chili. The affected products, which were distributed to restaurants in California and Nevada, bear the establishment number “EST. 4873.”
There have been no reports of illnesses connected to the beef.
