Providing proper eye care for children in low-income areas is the focus of audio interview with Joseph Carbone

Eye Care for Kids is a nonprofit organization based out of Midvale, Utah that provides children with comprehensive eye examinations and glasses. The children helped through this organization receive professional care from ophthalmologists and opticians to ensure their vision needs are met. It is estimated that there are over one million children in the United States who go without proper eye care because of the cost.

The implications that go along with this statistic are far reaching. Without proper eye care a child’s education can easily be compromised. The inability to see a blackboard or read a sentence from a book can lead to a child falling behind in class and ultimately grow frustrated with school as a whole.

By recognizing the dramatic impact that proper eye care has on a child’s life, Eye Care for Kids has provided examinations and glasses to over 9,000 children. At a cost of $25 per child, the opportunity to change a child’s life is less than a night at the movies.

As the executive director of Eye Care for Kids, Carbone has declared the organizations goal is to assist over 1,000 children a day. Carbone believes this to be an attainable mark and stresses that through other organizations and individuals making contributions, no child will be without proper eye care.

Many companies and organizations have adopted the Eye Care for Kids belief that Our Vision is Their Vision, and the goal is to increase this number. TransWorldNews has recently joined other sponsors like American Express, Overstock.com, Celebrity Signatures and Stars Against Drugs in pledging their support for this cause.

When companies and businesses register their listing in the Findit Marketplace through TransWorldNews they have the opportunity to designate $10.00 from their $49.95 registration cost as a contribution to a charity of their choice. In support of Eye Care for Kids, TransWorldNews will match the first 1,000 companies or businesses that designate their $10.00 contribution towards Eye Care for Kids. By raising $20,000 our efforts can give the gift of sight to 800 children who would otherwise suffer.
