One pilot was injured and a second was missing Friday morning after their fighter jet crashed at an air show in northwest China. According to reports, the men were performing at a show in the Shaanxi Province county of Pucheng when their JH-7 aircraft sudden went into a nosedive and crashed in an empty field. The plane burst into flames upon impact.
Witnesses spotted one of the pilots eject before the plane crashed. His parachute did not fully open and he was injured. The second pilot remains missing. "Rescuers are still searching for the missing pilot," said an official with the China International Aviation Convention.
None of the spectators were injured in the accident. Investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
