Carithers Flowers of Atlanta Donates Funds to Good Mews Animal Foundation Through Helping Hands Program

Carithers Flowers recently donated more than $2,100 to the Good Mews Animal Foundation in Marietta, GA. Charles Carithers, owner of Carithers Flowers, presented Kelly McNamara, Vice President of Good Mews with a check for the foundation last week.

As part of its Helping Hands program, the metro Atlanta based florist contributes more than $100,000 in products, services, and monies to local and national non-profits each year.

Carithers Flowers’ charitable partnership with Good Mews Animal Foundation assists the organization in its mission to promote public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, pet overpopulation, and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach programs.

Good Mews is located in Marietta and has been serving as a cat care facility, cat safe haven and cat adoption location for many years. The Good Mews team is made of up of mostly volunteers who give their time in various ways from care to grooming and medical attention for the felines.

This $2,100 contribution has played a significant role in housing homeless, abused, or neglected cats in the Metro Atlanta area and helping to place 268 of those cats in permanent homes this year alone. Good Mews receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, service, and money from its supporters, the public and area businesses like Carithers Flowers.

Good Mews offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area by providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until placing them in permanent homes.
