After just 7 months together, Twilight star Nikki Reed and American Idol alum Paul McDonald have tied the knot. The couple exchanged vows over the weekend in front of 100 close friends and family members.
“We couldn’t be happier. [We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We’re so glad this day has come!” the newlyweds said in a statement to Us Weekly magazine.
The wedding took place Sunday at a private ranch in Malibu, a rep for Reed, 23, confirms. The couple announced their engagement in June, just two months after meeting at the Los Angeles premiere of Little Red Riding Hood. Their relationship may have moved quickly, but McDonald and Reed had doubts about their decision to wed.
"She's amazing. She's the perfect girl," McDonald, 27, previously gushed to to MTV News. "We fit each other; when you know, you know, and she's the one."
Reed can be seen next in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, which is scheduled to hit theaters on November 18. McDonald is set to release a new album tentatively titled The Nikki Reed EP.
