Gutter Helmet Launches Contest on Heels of Major Social Media Success
Gutter Helmet, the original gutter protection system, is giving away a home improvement prize to show appreciation for the overwhelming response to its recent social media promotion. During 2011, Gutter Helmet’s social media following has increased by 1300%, as interest in home improvement and use of social media sites like Facebook have both increased.
To thank those who follow Gutter Helmet on Facebook, the company is running a contest through October 31, 2011. To enter, fans have to simply “Like” Gutter Helmet’s page on Facebook, then click the entry form to submit. They will then be automatically entered to win a gift card from a major home improvement retailer. The Gutter Helmet Facebook page can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/getgutterhelmet
“Adding value to existing homes is becoming a trend with homeowners as they await a turnaround in the housing market,” said Jim Reddington, Director of Sales and Marketing. “We want to thank our social media followers by giving them the chance to improve their homes, courtesy of Gutter Helmet.”
In addition to its official Facebook and Twitter pages, Gutter Helmet has begun another exciting social media community with their “My Home Rules” pages on Facebook and Twitter. The first social media community where users can share and rate each others’ homes, “My Home Rules” allows participants to share their home improvement projects, DIY tips, and personal style as well as learn more about how to make the most of their homes. These user-driven communities also provide an easy way for people to share tips and advice on all aspects of home improvement and home design.
Gutter Helmet makes gutter guard systems that prevent gutter blockages, preventing damage to roofs, foundations, and siding, and conducting rainwater efficiently to the ground. Gutter Helmet products also improve homes and make maintenance simpler by reducing the need for gutter cleaning.
About Gutter Helmet:
Founded in 1979 by Robert Demartini, Gutter Helmet pioneered a new market in gutter guards and gutter protection with its innovative “nose-forward” design that sloughed off debris while allowing water to flow into the gutter using capillary action. Gutter Helmet’s technology was so superior to the mesh screens used in gutters since the 1960s that it was awarded seven patents for gutter protection.
In 2005, Gutter Helmet was acquired by Southeastern Metals, owned by Gibraltar Industries, a billion-dollar company in the field of metal craftsmanship for the home.
