Over the last several days the NBA players and owners have been involved in tedious discussions and mediation to try and salvage some of the season that has already seen two weeks canceled. During the same time some of the league's main attractions are making plans to go on a two week tour to replace the canceled season.
Details are still being hammered out by the players and tour organizers, but tentative plans call for a six-game four-continent tour. Players involved are rumored to be Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Rajon Rondo, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Carlos Boozer, Paul Pierce and Kevin Love. Among other players possibly joining the tour are Kevin Durant and Kevin Garnett.
The tour would visit Puerto Rico, London, Macau, and Australia holding games for at least 15,000 fans. London and Australia would have two games each. Tour organizers are also hoping to broadcast the games to international markets.
