Recognising Success: Gloople Glitters at the ECommerce Expo Awards
Held this year at London’s Olympia on 12 October as part of the acclaimed eCommerce Expo, the awards celebrate the best and brightest stars of the booming ecommerce industry, from small businesses to international companies.
Gloople was up against tough competition from equally outstanding finalists, and founder Warren Knight was delighted with the result.
‘To be in the shortlist at all, let alone come Highly Commended, is a great achievement and one I share with all the team,’ said Warren. ‘We’ve come a long way in a short space of time and I can’t wait to see where we’ll be this time next year.’
‘We were really lifted by all the messages of support from our fans on Twitter and Facebook prior to the awards,’ added Julian Morency, co-founder of Gloople. ‘I hope they’re as pleased with the result as we are. But we’re not resting on our laurels – next year we’ll be back and gunning for the top prize!’
Gloople was shortlisted alongside Kiddicare, Prismastar and Madbid, eventually being pipped to the post by Prismastar. Other winners and attendees included ASOS, Charles Tyrwhitt, Party Delights, Lovehoney, Debenhams and Virgin Atlantic.
The duo and their team spent the rest of the evening networking with the teams and companies that, in Warren’s words, ‘make the industry tick.’
The ceremony topped off a successful week at the eCommerce Expo, which saw thousands of entrepreneurs and established businesses flocking to find out how they could use the new era of online shopping to grow their business, talk with experts and find out about the products, tools and systems on offer.
Launched in 2010, Gloople has gone from strength to strength. Specifically designed to give SMEs the impact of a big brand without the big budget, it creates direct connections between consumers by using social networks, driving traffic to online stores and enabling brands to engage not only with their customers, but with their entire online community of family, friends and colleagues.
Easy to use and cost-effective, with a range of package and payment options, Gloople offers a support suite of marketing and commerce tools that includes comprehensive CMS, built in SEO, Facebook and Twitter integration and on-the-go mobile shopping.
By 2012, live websites will include equestrian products; bike and car accessories, women’s boutique clothing, street wear clothing, GroupBuy, jewellery and florists will all be selling online through Gloople. The definitive face of the social shopping phenomenon, Gloople looks set to be a significant leader in the ecommerce industry now and in the future.
