Nestled in the heart of Lee County, FUNdamental Fitness 4 Kidz is offering something more for Halloween this year. Through professional craftsmanship, dedicated volunteer work from the locals, and the incentive to help the newborn nonprofit organization, they could have the scariest and most unique Asylum Haunted House in the area.
FUNdamental Fitness 4 Kidz is a program focused on the interest of children and their health through a fit lifestyle. The Florida Non Profit organization will teach proper dieting and optimal meal sizes, how to utilize ingredients labels, recognize effective exercise programs/routines to avoid wasting time and money on fads, and ultimately help children gain confidence in themselves while learning healthy lifestyles through practice. Along the way they will socialize with peers, build strong relationships and help their community. FUNdamental will provide access to outdoor and indoor activities, events and local festivities, and a great source for recreation and growth.
“Childhood obesity is at the top of the list every time, but it never seemed to go beyond just talk. Until now,” said the President and CEO of FUNdamental, Mr. Deke. “Obesity is a problem for everyone, believe it or not. Everyone is affected by someone, whether family or friend, that deals with obesity. Through teaching our children we can fade it out while strengthening our community.”
And as for setting roots in Fort Myers, FL, the new Fort Myers organization saw it as nothing short of a great opportunity to utilize Halloween. With the assistance of numerous locals and a slew of FGCU students, they have built not only a holiday treat, but also an event to help them branch out to residents and local establishments, alike. They have even accrued Richard Farsi, a scare tactics professional since 1996 as a Production Manager with prestige horror-themed events in San Antonio, TX, Palm Beach and Orlando, FL. Through Halloween’s festive nature, unity of community, and renowned fun, this Non Profit might have perfect timing to join the neighborhood.
“When the idea was proposed for the Asylum Haunted House I jumped aboard, although with uncertainty, I must admit. Now, though, all I can say is, ‘Wow’! They’ve really come together to make something special. Actually, I just recently took a test-tour myself through the haunted asylum and . . . let’s just say I don’t need a second. That was scary!” Sonya, Mr. Deke’s daughter and PR Director of FUNdamental, shares.
Food and drinks will also be available alongside musical performances by Doug Luther, sharing his 25 years of experience as a professional musician.
“A whole variety of genres, classic favorites, and original tunes will be on the menu. We’re looking forward to a wonderful time. “It’s a great cause to support and real fun holiday, so it’s a win/win the way I see it,” Doug Luther highlights.
As for the proceeds, everything is going towards launching FUNdamental Fitness 4 Kidz and improving their involvement and support for their new community in Fort Myers, FL.
The Asylum Haunted House is from 21 October 2011 until, you guessed it, Halloween, 31 October 2011, and located across the road from the Broadway Palm Plaza at 3493 Colonial Circle.
