Dita Von Teese may not be a household name but she does have celebrity cred and is a very accomplished dancer, known as the “Queen of Burlesque”. She has appeared in movies, music videos and fashion magazines. She is also writing a book about beauty. Von Teese recently had an interview with a magazine, West Australian, in which she defends plastic surgery.
The popularity of plastic surgery, such as breast augmentations and liposuction, has been on the rise but many celebrities deny undergoing the knife. And Dita has an opinion about this, she says, “I’ve had a breast enlargement. It is so tiresome when people lie about their surgery.”
Liposuction, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty and cosmetic fillers have made huge gains is social acceptability partly because a number of celebrities admit having surgery and hail the benefits. Many patients, who have cosmetic procedures, benefit both physically and mentally. According to Dita, “I don’t have any interest in making people think I’m naturally perfect.”
Dita also told the magazine that “Plastic Surgery is a dramatic form of make-up.”
Plastic surgery has its critics who say they would never have plastic surgery, but the fact is that the people who do can benefit from the experience. Higher self-esteem accompanies improved physical appearance.
Also, recent reports have shown that liposuction can help reduce the level of detrimental fat in the blood, so these patients see a twofold advantage to the procedure.
