RadarOnline.com reports 70’s funk singer Sly Stone has entered rehab for cocaine addiction. The 68-year-old, who has reportedly been homeless in recent years, checked into a Malibu treatment center for a 90 day program.
“Sly has fallen on very hard times in the past few years. Sly will be in rehab for at least the next 90 days, and he is committed to getting sober," a source close to the musician told Radar.
No other details were released. Stone became the lead singer of the funk band Sly & The Family Stone in 1966. It was after the band found success in 1969 that Stone first began using drugs. The band dissolved in 1975 and Stone went on to record five solo albums. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
