Trois-Rivieres, Quebec – The United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-moon has called for help across the globe for all nations, countries, and communities to come together and fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Secretary-General Ban said, "Drug abuse can be prevented, treated and controlled. I urge Member States to upgrade their preventive interventions and integrate drug treatment into public health programmes. The World Health Organization and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime continue to work with Governments and other partners to scale up drug treatment world-wide".
The Canadian Narconon drug rehab program is supporting this call to action, and is celebrating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by holding a special graduation and releasing public service announcements from former graduates of their drug rehab program. The United Nations also released a new public service announcement showing four young men a woman who’s lives deteriorate due to drug addiction. These images are the all to real truth to what will happen when a person is caught up in drug abuse. The entire Narconon network will be working together to help spread this message, and help call to action all the communities around the world to help support this cause.
The Narconon network is comprised of 140 different centers located in over 40 different countries around the world. Thousands of lives have been saved from drug addiction and millions of people around the world have received drug education lectures explaining the truth about drugs.
