Webxu Announces Appointment of John Ellis as President & COO

Webxu, Inc. (WBXU) is a media company that owns and operates consumer branded web properties focused on Customer Acquisition, E-Commerce and Social Media. Today Webxu announces the appointment of John Ellis to serve as the company’s President and COO.

Mr. Ellis has been instrumental in building and managing online businesses at leading public companies including ValueClick, Yahoo, and EarthLink. He was VP of Global Product Management for ValueClick, joining through its acquisition of Fastclick. At Fastclick, Mr. Ellis was the VP of Marketing and Products where he and the executive management doubled the company size and went through a successful Series A, IPO and acquisition by ValueClick in just over a year. Prior to Fastclick, he led Overture’s local search strategy and development, then integration into Yahoo Local. Before Overture, Mr. Ellis helped create the Broadband operating unit at EarthLink. As VP of Marketing & Products, he helped to quickly grow the division into a $285M product line through marketing activities and strategic acquisitions.
