Bollywood Actress Claims Film Industry is Rife with Sexual Harassment

Bollywood actress Sayali Bhagat accused the co-star in an upcoming film of sexual harassment and has stated that it is prevalent in the film industry.

The actress has recently accused actor Shiney Ahuja of repeatedly hitting on her while they were filming “Ghost.” Since Bhagat made her harassment public, Shiney’s wife has been flooding her with text massages begging her not to go to police, according to The Indian Express.

In the states, people go to their supervisors or sexual harassment lawyer when they are harassed.

Bhagat issued a press release which outlines 7 years of sexual harassment that she has endured while working on Bollywood films.  According to her statement, “It is an industry filled with lechers who treat women like pieces of meat. Everyone wants a piece of you.”

Her press release also tells of incidents of sexual harassment she endured from three other men. One man felt up her buttocks while she was bent over to receive a blessing by touching his feet.

A filmmaker named Sajid Kahn once asked her to have sex with him while he stood naked in his office.

In her statement Bhagat said, “There are so many of us suffering this kind of harassment for so many years. But I can’t take it anymore.” No one should have to just take it and they can be proactive by employing a sexual harassment lawyer.

The workplace should not feel hostile to employees and people, who are harassed, can halt the behavior by retaining a sexual harassment lawyer.
