Michael Lohan, the father of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested Tuesday morning on domestic violence charges. A police report from Tampa, Florida shows the 51-year-old was arrested at 1:10 a.m. when officers responded to a call at the home of his girlfriend, Kate Major. He was booked at the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail where he is currently being held without bail.
Lohan is accused of hitting Major, destroying her cell phone and threatening to throw her off the balcony during an hours-long argument over multiple things, including a restraining order that Major obtained after a previous incident of domestic violence. Lohan was also angry that Major refused to perform oral sex. He allegedly banged his head against the bathroom door until it bled and told Major that he planned to tell police she attacked him.
The police report says as soon as officers arrived Lohan “got defensive saying 'everything is OK and nothing happened here.” "The victim started yelling in the background for us to help her because he was lying. We separated the two at this time,” the report states.
After he was taken into custody, Lohan complained of chest pains and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. He allegedly hoped his time at the hospital would “prevent him from going to jail, and in fact, signed himself out of the hospital soon after he thought the police left,” according to the police report. He was then taken back into custody and transported to jail.
Lohan has not commented. He has been arrested multiple times in the past for domestic violence.
