Typically speaking, the last week of October is set aside as Red Ribbon Week, the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign targeting America’s youth.
While Red Ribbon Week focuses on preventing drug use in youth, it also is a special time to pay tribute to DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena who lost his life fighting to keep illegal drugs out of the United States and to keep children safe.
“Red Ribbon Week is a great opportunity for the community and parents,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside
Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “It provides a time to discuss drug and alcohol use among children, teens and young adults and to teach them that they can make a conscious, communicated decision to stay drug and alcohol free. At the same time, it’s important to remember those who continually fight the drug war and those who have given their lives in service while fighting this never-ending battle on drugs.”
Drug and alcohol use and abuse is a major growing concern for the youth of America as well as worldwide. Opening up conversations with young people about drugs and alcohol can, indeed, be difficult, especially if they are in denial about either their drug or alcohol use. Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center offers professional intervention services for the families and loved ones of individuals who are suffering with an addiction. If you or a loved one suspects that substance abuse or alcoholism is taking a hold in the life of someone you love, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can assist you in helping them begin the journey to recovery and living a life of sobriety.

These accolades did not go unnoticed within the addiction treatment field and resulted in the adoption by many throughout the country of a more holistic approach to drug addiction treatment.
