Rolling Stone Magazine founder Jann Wenner and his estranged wife have reached an amicable divorce settlement over 16 years after their initial split.
New York Post columnist Keith Kelley reported that the divorce was finalized on Oct. 12th, ending a marriage that lasted 43 years. Dissolving a marriage where assets are immense should be mediated with a divorce attorney.
News of their divorce left many to wonder what would happen to his publishing empire, which includes Us Weekly, Men’s Journal and Family Life, and feared that it would be split up. However, the Post reported that the Wenner Media was put into trust years ago and that Jann and Jane split the profits, which made its founder worth $500 million. They passed on their legacy to a new generation.
The couple spilt in 1995 after it was revealed that Jann was having an affair with Calvin Klein model Matt Nye. When Jann filed for divorce in June, it was speculated that the divorce would allow him to marry Nye.
Wenner founded Rolling Stone with a $7,500 loan from Jane’s parents.
Divorces can be acrimonious and couples generally need divorce lawyers to be the voice of reason. The typical issues that arise in dissolution like child custody, division of property and spousal support can create hostility among the divorcing parties. Divorce attorneys are necessary to make certain each person gets the fairest settlement and assure that children are taken care of.
