This week on Survivor, both tribes operated under the assumption that the merge is about to happen. At Upolu, everyone is moping about their split vote at the last tribal council. They want to go into the merge with the numbers, so they bond over searching for the idol that Coach actually has. Coach pretends he found it during the search. At Savaii, Ozzy hatches a risky plan that involves going to Redemption Island to beat Christine so Upolu will be down one tribe member when the merge happens.
For the redemption duel, Christine and Mikayla had to dismantle a box and use the wood to build a bridge. After completing their bridge, they used the wood again to complete a puzzle. Christine won again and survives another week.
For the immunity challenge, each tribe was split into pairs. Two pairs were blindfolded and attached to a rope while one pair gave instructions on how to get through an obstacle course and collect bags of carved wooden pieces. The blindfolded pairs had to match the wooden pieces to complete the challenge. Cochran cost Savaii the challenge when he got one of the blindfolded pairs tangled up on their rope. It was settled that Cochran would be going to Redemption Island until Ozzy declared he should go to beat Christine. Ozzy was sent packing.
