It looks like Charlie Sheen will be back on TV next summer! FX has confirmed they picked up 10 episodes of his new sitcom Anger Management. If the show is a hit, the network will commit to 90 more episodes.
“We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie’s acting talents — and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play. ‘Two and a Half Men’ has been an outstanding component of FX’s schedule for the past 14 months, and we have every confidence that Anger Management will soon be as well,” said FX President and General Manager John Landgraf.
Anger Management is loosely based on the 2003 film of the same name. Sheen will play “a mild-mannered, non-confrontational man ordered to attend group anger management sessions led by a therapist who could probably use some anger management himself,” according to Lionsgate.
Sheen, 46, was fired from the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men in March following weeks of bizarre behavior and a public feud with show creator Chuck Lorre. His character, Charlie Harper, was killed off and replaced by internet billionaire Walden Schmidt, played by Ashton Kutcher.
