Tiger does it again; final round 63 captures Deutsche Bank Championship and fifth win in a row.

Tiger Woods trailed Vijay Singh by three strokes going into the final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday. After an eagle on two followed by a birdie on three Tiger pulled even with Singh and then continued his assault on the PGA tour.

The victory marked Woods’ fifth straight tour victory and moved him into fifth place on the career wins list at 53.

Woods has now won seven titles in the 14 tournaments he has entered this year. The five victories in a row is one short of the run he went on at the end of 1999 and early 2000. Those six straight wins tied him with Ben Hogan for the second-longest winning streak on record. Byron Nelson won 11 straight tournaments in 1945.

After winning the British Open in July, Woods went on to win the Buick Open, the PGA Championship, and the World Golf Championships at Firestone. He will be aiming for six when at the American Express Championship during t he last week of September.

In the meantime Tiger has a week off before the HSBC World Match Play Championship in England followed by the Ryder Cup in Ireland.
