After Poor Showing Against the Lions, the Dever Broncos will Stick with Tebow as Starter

Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Lions Tim Tebow had a miserable outing. He was sacked multiple times, looked lost when he dropped back, had poor mechanics and was routed by a superior defense. After all that, he will get another chance to be the starter for the Denver Broncos.

Broncos coach John Fox, when asked if Tebow would continue to be the first name on the quarterbacks depth chart, responded, "For this week, yes." While this endorsement is less than stellar, it sends Tebow the message that he needs to get better, which Tebow says he is working on.

"It's just take it one day at a time, consistently trying to get better and not focusing too far in the future," said Tebow. "Today's the day I've got to improve and that's kind of the focus."

This season Tebow is 1-1 as a starter. His lone victory came against a winless Miami Dolphins came after playing poorly for the majority of the game. In the two games he has started he has completed only 46 percent of his passes and been sacked more than a dozen times.

Only time will tell if Tebow can improve enough to justify the Broncos' fans clamoring for him during early season losses. If he does not prove himself the starting job could go to Brady Quinn, who has "shown flashes" in practice, according to Fox.
