Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard have called it quits. A rep for the ‘New Girl’ actress confirms the couple decided to end their 2 year marriage.
A source close to Deschanel and the Death Cab for Cutie singer says the split is “amicable.” “The intention is to move forward with a divorce,” the insider says.
No other details were available. Deschanel, 31, and Gibbard, 35, were married in September 2009. They are not the only celebrity couple to announce their divorce this week. On Monday, reality star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries after less than 3 months of marriage. She cited irreconcilable differences and requested Humphries be denied spousal support.
