With Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kris Humphries underway, speculation has begun about what the reality star should do with wedding gifts and the 20.5 carat diamond engagement ring Humphries proposed with back in May. Speaking on Good Morning America Thursday, Kardashian’s mom Kris Jenner said Humphries should not expect to get the ring back.
“I hate an Indian giver,” she said. “It’s a gift --- you keep a gift.”
As for when she thinks Kim began having second thoughts, Jenner says it was likely before the August 20 wedding. “Kim hasn’t been the Kim I know in a little bit and I wasn’t sure if it was just the pressure of the big wedding,” she said. “I saw her changing a little bit and it really concerned me.”
“I don’t think she just woke up one day and had these feelings. I think it’s probably been a while coming perhaps and she just wasn’t sure,” Jenner explained. “She’s a very smart girl and she loves really hard. For her to come to this decision so suddenly after 72 days has got to be devastating for her. She doesn’t do anything lightheartedly.”
Kim, 31, cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce filing Monday. She listed the date of separation as October 31, 2011 and requested that Humphries be denied spousal support. For his part, Humphries released a statement saying he remains “committed” to his marriage. "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce," the 26-year-old New Jersey Nets star said. "I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."
