Miami Housing Authority Facing Sexual Harassment Complaints

Presidential candidate Herman Cain isn’t the only person facing sexual harassment allegations, as the media would have you believe based on their exclusive coverage. Others across the country are fighting their own allegations, like the executive director of Homestead Housing Authority in Miami.

Sexual harassment attorneys can confirm that this type of harassment is still rampant in the workplace, according to recent data close to 35 percent of men and 22 percent of men admit that they have been subjected to sexual misconduct by co-workers.

Oliver Hentschel, executive director of Homestead has been accused of sexual harassment by two women within the span of one week. Just Wednesday, Deputy Director, Monica Rusconi contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to file her lawsuit. She also sent an e-mail to the authority’s board attorney and board members, stating, “I fell very uncomfortable around him and it is affecting our communication.

On October 27th, the board had a meeting to discuss another allegation of sexual harassment filed against Hentschel, who was hired in March. They stated they would be hiring a third party to investigation the previous allegation.

Hentschel’s actions have not been made public. Generally sexual harassment lawyers represent people who have been subjected to unwanted comments and physical actions of a sexual nature which can make a person feel uncomfortable and abused.

Sexual harassment victims often face retaliation after they report harassment. When this is the case, a sexual harassment attorney can sue the guilty parties for lost wages.
