Nelson & Forbes to Exhibit Bronze Sculpture Collection at the Country Living Christmas Fair, 2011

Christmas fairs are the perfect place to get Christmas shopping done whilst avoiding the season's rush at shopping centres. Nelson & Forbes Sculpture Company will be exhibiting at stand A11 of the Country Living Christmas Fair taking place between 09th and 11th November at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London.

Nelson & Forbes will be exhibiting all 36 bronze pieces in their 2011/2012 collection, including two new additions which are being exclusively unveiled to the public at the fair.

The first new piece is an imposing sculpture showing a lioness in all her power and might as she pounces. The Leaping Lioness (£2,000.00), cast from an impressive 4 kilograms of bronze, is mounted on a hand cut and polished mahogany plinth, creating a magnificent work of art that will take pride of place in any collector’s home. It is impressive at 30cm in length and 18cm in height, and is limited to just 150 pieces worldwide. Each piece comes in a substantial cedar box, handmade in Britain.

The second piece, Rhinoceros Mother & Baby (£510.00) shows the nurturing side of this powerful beast, as she shares a quiet moment with her calf. This piece comes in a limited edition of just 250 castings. Every sculpture from Nelson & Forbes includes an artist signed certificate of authenticity hand printed from an original copper plate engraving.

Every piece made by Nelson & Forbes is created in bronze using the ancient art of lost wax casting, which can be traced back over 6000 years and remains largely unchanged from its original form. It is the same process that was used to create famous sculptures across the globe including the Trafalgar Square Lions and the doors of the Bank of England. This process allows every intricate detail of a sculptor’s original but often fragile work to be perfectly recreated in a beautiful material and ensures that their sculpture will last a lifetime.

The new sculptures are just two of 36 exclusive pieces in the Nelson & Forbes 2011/12 collection, created by artists Jonathan Sanders and Sue Maclaurin. They will be available to view on Stand A11 at Country Living Christmas Fair, are available in galleries nationwide.
