Paul Economon Joins Rimon PC’s Growing Northern Virginia Office
Rimon P.C., an international corporate law firm, announced today that Paul Economon has joined their Northern Virginia office, adding to the firm’s start-up, venture financing, mergers and acquisitions, and technology practice groups.
For the past 18 years, Mr. Economon has practiced law in the Washington DC metro area working with privately held onshore and off-shore software development companies; multiple venture backed, private and publicly traded companies; and multiple private companies which have been acquired by larger, private and public entities such as Cardinal Health, American Systems Corporation, Symbol Technologies, Teradata Corporation, InferX Corporation, and Three Pillar Global. Mr. Economon joined Rimon from the firm he founded, Economon & Associates, PC. Prior to that, he was a partner in the DC area law firm of Koltun & King, P.C. and has held five in-house positions ranging from General Counsel to COO during his professional career.
“After returning to private practice from a private sector position in 2008, I came to realize that my client base and the entrepreneurs that I’ve worked with for years were steadily moving up-market, and that they required increased counsel and expertise in their ever growing businesses”, says Economon. “My examination of the market for a suitable platform from which I could offer my client base the enhanced legal services they required, while maintaining the client relationship I wanted and the control of the legal services rendered to them naturally led me to Rimon. I now have the depth of services that my clients need, the flexibility to render them in the manner I see fit, and the control over my practice that every attorney wants.”
Mr. Economon is a corporate, contract, business transactional and technology attorney with an extensive background in providing both legal and business support to the small to medium enterprise sector. Mr. Economon’s focus is in high technology. He has extensive transactional experience with various mergers & acquisitions, asset and stock purchases, corporate and entity reorganizations and recapitalizations, as well as the sale/purchase of securities and other financial facilities, and the accompanying compliance with state and federal securities laws. His experience with venture capital transactions comes from multiple perspectives, including representing or being in-house counsel for both investing entities and corporations receiving investments. Mr. Economon has also been a business owner of a venture backed company.
Mr. Economon is a member of and the Chief Legal Counsel for iMPACT Ventures Capital Group, LLC, an early stage venture group based in Northern Virginia, and is an equity holder/investor in a number of local start-up entities.
Mr. Economon earned his J.D. as well as an MBA from George Washington University. He also holds a B.S. from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
“Paul makes an excellent addition to the growing Rimon team,” said Rimon’s Managing Partner Michael Moradzadeh, “his 360 degree experience imbues him with a deep understanding of the issues and perspectives involved in a sophisticated transaction.”
