Support from families leads to greater sobriety success through the holidays

Holiday time troubling for addicted individuals

The holidays are filled with excitement and happy times for most people. However, excitement may be overtaken with anxiety and worry for those struggling with alcoholism and for those with a family member struggling with alcoholism.

“The time between Thanksgiving and New Years is one of the most stressful times for many who suffer with addiction,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “While most are celebrating with family and friends, the addicted individual, who has just begun the journey to recovery, is often struggling, not knowing exactly where to go or what to do. That’s why it is particularly important that, family and friends of those with the problem of facing addiction, surround them with extra compassion and support as well as appreciation and praise for their determination to get and/or to remain sober. It’s amazing to see how far a few words of encouragement can go in helping someone.”

The holiday times account for the most cases of relapse in those struggling with various forms of addiction. Additional support during this time period is recommended and is, often times, crucial for someone who is in early recovery. If you or a loved one suspects that alcoholism or any type of substance abuse is taking a hold in the life of someone you love, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center can assist you in helping them to begin the journey to recovery and living a life of sobriety.

Walters, for an in-depth meeting on what makes its program so successful. These accolades did not go unnoticed within the addiction treatment field and resulted in the adoption by many throughout the country of a more holistic approach to drug addiction treatment.
