Two memorial services for rapper Heavy D have been planned for next week. RadarOnline.com reports both memorials will be held in Mt. Vernon, New York.
The first is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16 at the Yannaantuono Funeral Home. The service will begin at 12 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The second service will be held on November 17 at Grace Baptist Church at 11 a.m.
Heavy D, whose real name is Dwight Arrington Meyers, died Tuesday afternoon at a Los Angeles hospital after collapsing outside his Beverly Hills condo. He was reportedly having difficulty breathing before he collapsed. The 44-year-old was pronounced dead at Cedars Sinai Medical Center around 1 p.m.
The exact cause of death has not been determined and is currently under investigation. Authorities say the cause of death appears to be “medically related” as there was “no obvious signs of foul play.”
Meyers, who is perhaps best known for his single “Now That We Found Love,” most recently performed in early October at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert in Whales. His last album, Reggage, was released in 2009. Meyers also has small roles in several films, including The Cider House Rules, Step Up and Tower Heist.
