The star the Survivor television series, Whitney Duncan and Donny Fallgater, married after only knowing each other for two months. And like most couples, who are swept up in the whirlwind of love, they probably didn't think just 15 months later they would be heading to divorce attorneys, to end their nuptials. But as the fates would have it their marriage wouldn't survive.
Donny, an aspiring country musician, and Whitney married secretly in August of 2010, a secret they kept from family and friends, even though they lived and traveled together. This last May, Whitney left to star in Survivor: South Pacific.
During filming Whitney fell in love with a fellow cast member, Keith Tollefson. She didn’t tell Donny until the shoot was over. During filming she portrayed herself as a single woman and now it’s the truth. A judge heard their case on November 8th and the papers will be signed shortly.
Infidelity is one of the primary reasons people seek out divorce attorneys to end their marriages. Over 50 percent of men and women admit to cheating on their spouses. Only 31 percent of marriages survive after the affair or affairs.
Marriages of young people who marry in haste don’t always last long; individuals under thirty have a 16 percent divorce rate. Luckily, for them and their divorce attorneys dissolving the marriage is easier with less financial matters and often no children to deal with.
