Last night’s Dancing with the Stars elimination determined which three celebrities will complete for the mirror ball trophy on next week’s season finale. Each couple was brought on stage separately to learn their fate. Rob Kardashian was the first to be declared safe while Hope Solo was the first to find herself in the bottom two. Ricki Lake was also declared safe, which meant J.R. Martinez landed in the bottom two with Solo.
It was Solo who was sent packing. "This competition is one of the toughest competitions I've ever been a part of. I'm grateful. This was an amazing opportunity. Instead of winning the mirror-ball trophy I'm going to go and try and win a gold medal at the Summer Olympics,” the soccer star said after the results were revealed.
Her partner Maksim Chemerkovskiy called their dancing stint an “amazing journey.” "Thank you for determination and will and everything else. I wish I could have been better for you," he told Solo.
