Andy Murray kept his Wimbledon dreams alive after outlasting Stanislas Wawrinka in a five set marathon 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 on Monday.
Murray managed to grab the win despite a solid performance from Wawrinka in which the Swiss national hammered out 17 aces and collected 59 winners. For Murray the difference was in limiting his errors compared to Wawrinka as he held a 49-59 advantage which proved decisive.
.
Murray has yet to capture a Grand Slam singles title yet he reached the finals at the 2008 U.S. Open where he fell to Roger Federer. He reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon last year before being dismissed by Rafael Nadal and he reachd the quarterfinals of the 2009 French Open where he lost to Fernando Gonzalez.
