With Keith, Ozzy and Jim sent to Redemption Island one after another, Whitney and Dawn realize they are next on the chopping block. The former Upolu members along with Cochran appear to remain completely loyal to one another, but cracks in the alliance start to show when Albert contemplates making a “big move.”
For the redemption duel, Jim, Ozzy and Keith must balance long poles on their hands. The first two to let their poles fall become the first members of the jury. The last person standing remains on Redemption Island to face off against the next eliminated castaway. Jim is out first and is followed by Keith. Ozzy heads back to Redemption Island.
For the immunity challenge, the castaways must balance a bowl of rice on their head while walking across two teeter-totters. They must empty their rice into a big basket on a scale. The first person to fill up their basket enough to tip their scale wins immunity. It comes down to Brandon, Dawn and Sophie. Sophie’s strategy to fill her bowl to the brim works and she wins immunity.
Back at camp, Albert comes up with a plan to secure jury votes by eliminating Edna, who is Coach’s closest ally. His plan involves Whitney, Dawn, Cochran, Sophie and himself voting for Edna. Five votes would ensure Edna is sent packing and Albert reasons that when Whitney and Dawn go to the jury they might throw their votes to him because he came up with a plan to save them from elimination. Whitney and Dawn are on board with the plan, but Sophie and Cochran remain skeptical. In the end, Albert, Sophie and Cochran stayed true to their alliance and Dawn was eliminated.
Jeff Probst then revealed they would have another immunity challenge immediately followed by tribal council. For the challenge, Probst asked questions about surviving in Samoa. Those who answer wrong are eliminated. Albert, Edna and Rick are eliminated after the first question. The second sees Cochran and Brandon eliminated while Coach is out with the third question. Whitney answers wrong and Sophie wins immunity again. Whitney was sent to Redemption Island.
