Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Announce Divorce

After weeks of speculation and rumors of divorce, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have confirmed they are ending their 6 year marriage. Moore announced the split in a statement released late Thursday.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” the actress said. “This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Kutcher added, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

This was the first marriage for Kutcher, 33, and the third for Moore, 49. Moore split from her first husband, singer Freddy Moore, in 1984 after four years of marriage. She then married actor Bruce Willis in 1987. They had three children together before calling it quits in 2000.

The divorce announcement comes a month after a 22-year-old Sara Leal claimed to have had a one-night stand with Kutcher on September 24 – the Two and a Half Men star’s sixth wedding anniversary with Moore.

"We had sex twice. Everything felt natural. We were having a good time. One thing led to another. He was good but it wasn't weird or perverted or creepy. I was attracted to him, and he was attracted to me,” Leal told Britain’s Sun newspaper.

"The last thing I remember him saying was he did a good job," she said. "We woke up and I was wearing a robe. He opened it up and I was like, 'What are you doing?' He was like, 'Just checking. OK, I did good! You're really pretty.'”
