A source close to Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez says the couple’s relationship had been in trouble for a “long time” before they finally decided to call off their engagement. Fedotowsky and Martinez announced their split Monday, just weeks after denying rumors their relationship was on the rocks.
“They haven't been well for a long time,” the insider tells Us Weekly magazine.
Fedotowsky, 27, has reportedly moved out of the San Diego home she shared with Martinez. The source says she is “really upset right now.” “She’s going to be laying low for a while,” the insider added.
Neither Fedotowsky nor Martinez has commented on the reason for the split. They were engaged on the season 6 finale of The Bachelorette in 2010 and planned to tie the knot this past August. The wedding was postponed because Fedotowsky underwent knee surgery. In late October, Fedotowsky admitted they scrapped wedding plans altogether because they didn’t “feel the need” to be married.
"At this point we're not planning a wedding. Does that mean we're fighting? No. Does that mean we're miserable? Absolutely not!” she said at the time. "We're still engaged; we're still living together. We just don't feel the need to walk down the aisle right now."
