Oklahoma City police stated that a man who crashed into a light pole has a long history with DWI arrests.
Last week, police were called to the scene of an accident which occurred on S.W. 21st Street and S. May Ave. When they arrived they saw that a vehicle had crashed into a light pole and firefighters had to remove the driver from the vehicle.
Max McClure, 67, was behind the wheel and police noticed several open containers of beer in his vehicle. They also noticed a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and body and his speech was slurred. He was taken to a hospital to check on his condition.
While at the hospital police informed McClure he was being arrested to DWI, and asked him to submit to a blood alcohol test. He responded by saying “it would be a waste of time,” and he refused. A DWI attorney often recommends their clients forgo a breathalyzer or blood alcohol test.
When police checked his record they discovered that he has had 11 previous intoxicated driving charges and was driving on a revoked license.
After multiple intoxicated driving charges, a DWI lawyer may be able to reduce their client’s penalties if they agree to rehabilitation, depending on the state where the charges stem from. The circumstances of every case are different, but every offender will benefit from the representation of a DWI attorney.
