Retired Professor Critically Injured in Fairbanks, Alaska

A Sunday afternoon accident involving three vehicles resulted in the injury to a former physics professor, Davis Sentman, of the University of Fairbanks.

According to Alaska State Troopers, Sentman, 65, was traveling his SUV east on Alumni Drive when he ran a red light at University Ave. His vehicle struck a truck driven by Dillon Engle, 20, who was turning southbound on University Ave.

After the two vehicles collided, they then crashed into another car sitting at the traffic light on University Ave., waiting to turn. This car was driven by Lanene Scott, 42.

Sentman was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but troopers believe his medical condition was not caused by the accident and instead believe it could have been the cause. There have been no reports on what his condition is.

The other drivers did not sustain any injuries, but their vehicles sustained significant damage.
