Tagus is the new e-reader using Dixio, the best dictionary technology

Casa del Libro bookstore chain has recently launched its own e-reader with e-book reading platform and its own store. The new device, manufactured by the Spanish company bq Readers, it is on the market under the name of Tagus e-reader and includes an adapted version of Dixio technology. The user can search in and immediately access prestigious dictionaries such as Diccionario de la Lengua Española edited by Real Academia Española (RAE), the WordNet and the Semantix Spanish-English and English-Spanish  bilingual dictionaries.

Semantix, the company that developed Dixio, is taking a bold step forward and supporting the e-reader sector in order to help users to easily understand the meaning of new words or expressions that they find as they read. All of this is thanks to the innovative dictionary technology developed by Semantix, the only one of its kind in the world.

Another feature that makes Dixio an exceptional tool is the recognition of words that are not themselves dictionary entries, like in verb forms (“bought”), plural nouns (“flowers”), female forms in Spanish (“hermana”), derivative forms (“smallest”) or, in Spanish again, verb forms with atonic pronouns (“cómetelo”). Dixio always refers to the principal dictionary entry (“buy”, “flower”, “hermano”, “small”, “comer”) to make things easy for users.

Dixio operates with more than 100 dictionaries, so users have more than 23 million words at their disposal. It also provides permanent access to the latest information with encyclopaedic sources such as Wikipedia.
