A group of students were shot Tuesday at a bus stop in
Detroit, Michigan. Authorities say seven people, at least five of them
students, were shot by two male gunmen.
Two of the victims were in critical condition while the
other five were in serious condition. No deaths have been reported.
Police Chief Roderick Grimes says at least two gunmen,
who have not been identified, pulled up in a vehicle, asked for someone by name
and then opened fire. The suspects covered their faces with masks or t-shirts.
“Two perpetrators, possibly three, pulled up in a
vehicle, exited their vehicle with weapons, asked for a person by name and then
opened fire onto the crowd,” Grimes said. “They got back in their vehicle and
exited the scene.”
No one has been arrested in the shooting. The incident
occurred off of school property, about a mile from Cody High School, where
summer school classes are being held. Summer school classes will continue as
scheduled.
