OpenAire Takes the International Stage at Dubai’s Big 5 Building and Construction Show
The biggest players in the international construction industry gathered for the Big 5 tradeshow in Dubai from November 21-24, 2011, one of the largest shows of its kind with over 2,500 exhibitors and 30,000 construction products from 75 countries. Among the exhibitors was Canadian firm OpenAire, the world’s leading designer, manufacturer and installer of custom retractable roof enclosures and operable skylights.
For more than 30 years, the Big 5 has been a key business platform for the building and construction industry, providing a unique opportunity for buyers and sellers of construction products and services to source an astounding array of technologies, innovations and techniques. This year’s theme was “Building Tomorrow’s Skylines.” For OpenAire, a company specializing in modern design, green building and sustainable operation, the future-focused theme was the perfect showcase for the unparalleled benefits of operable roofs and enclosures to a global audience.
“The Big 5 was the ideal place to show the world our solutions for everything from water parks and community centres to hotels and shopping malls, “says Mark Albertine, President, OpenAire. “It’s a chance to establish relationships with top builders and architects and contribute to the growth of communities around the world. Our enclosures are actually known for increasing local growth and tourism; by partnering with world-renowned builders, the possibilities are endless.”
OpenAire showcased unique applications from around the world, including their work on the Aquatoria in Donetsk, Ukraine which will be the largest retractable aluminum-domed indoor waterpark in the world. (View Aquatoria under construction!) OpenAire also launched their newest offering, the modern multi-pane skylight. This operable, maintenance-free panel opens up to 65% of the skylight area to provide natural light, ventilation and unbeatable appeal. (Watch the skylight in action!)
In addition to showing projects, Albertine presented a seminar on the company’s breakthrough products. Titled “Energy-Efficient, LEED-Certified Aluminum Enclosures and Retractable Skylights – A Grand Alternative to Traditional Construction,” the seminar highlighted the significant green benefits of OpenAire solutions. Projects incorporating an OpenAire retractable roof or enclosure can earn LEED points, offering tremendous energy savings and lower life cycle costs. Plus, the aluminium and glass structures require zero maintenance, and the appealing spaces they create offer lots of daylight, outdoor views and result in dramatically increased usage.
OpenAire’s presence at this high-profile tradeshow has already got people talking. Builders in the Middle East and beyond are intrigued by the possibilities that an OpenAire structure can provide. By showcasing their expertise in creating visually appealing, enjoyable, sustainable destinations, OpenAire is cementing their status as the global leader in innovative structures with unlimited applications.
