Hyundai Tops List of IntelliChoice Certified Pre-Owned Program Winners for 2012

Hyundai beats out MINI and Volkswagen to win at the CCertified Pre-Owned Forum and National Remarketing Conference In Las Vegas Nov. 15

Orlando, FL – IntelliChoice, the market leader in automotive cost-of-ownership and value analysis and part of the Motor Trend Automotive Group, announced winners of its 13th annual ranking of manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) programs, at the Certified Pre-Owned Forum and National Remarketing Conference in Las Vegas on November 15.

This year, Hyundai broke into the top spot of the Popular vehicle brands category after being third overall since 2008. It beat out two previous winners, MINI and Volkswagen. Volvo won in the Premium category, followed closely by Cadillac and Porsche.

Rick Compton, CEO of local market leader Orlando Hyundai, is part of the network that deploys Hyundai’s CPO programs to the public. Noting that Special Financing plays a key role in making the program work, he stresses the importance of custom-fitting the financing program to used car buyers.
Programs are rated on the following nine criteria:

     Extended Manufacturer Warranties
     Title Verification
     Certification Inspection Process
     Roadside Assistance
     Special Financing
     Return/Exchange Policies
     Program and Dealer Compliance
     Used Cost of Ownership
     Market Penetration

Tyler Schulze, vice president and general manager of IntelliChoice, said at the winners’ announcements, “The Certified Pre-Owned segment of the market continues to be very important to manufacturers and dealers alike, particularly due to the recent contraction in used-vehicle inventory levels. The ability for dealers to certify their best used cars and trucks under a compelling program sponsored by the manufacturer is a clear win for both the consumer and the dealer.” He went on to note that consumers stand to benefit from the ever-increasing competition in this market segment.
