No wonder Willie Nelson wants to get on the road again, country icon busted on marijuana possession while traveling

Willie Nelson, the country singing icon and well known proponent for the legalization of marijuana, was busted Monday morning when his tour bus was pulled over in Louisiana.

The vehicle had been stopped by a state trooper for a routine commercial inspection. When the trooper approached the bus he detected a strong odor of marijuana. Upon searching the vehicle 1 ½ pounds of marijuana and .2 pounds of narcotic mushrooms were found.

Nelson was issued a citation for misdemeanor possession. The 73-year-old singer is scheduled to perform September 30, at the Live Aid concert in Camden, New Jersey.
