Popular Christian evangelist Billy Graham has been hospitalized for “evaluation and treatment of his lungs,” Asheville’s Mission Hospital confirmed Wednesday. The hospital indicated Graham, 93, is in good condition.
According to a statement posted on the Bill Graham Evangelistic Association website, Graham was “alert, smiling and waving at hospital staff” when he was admitted. He is being tested for pneumonia and expects to be home for the Christmas holiday.
"While no date has been set for discharge, Mr. Graham is looking forward to returning home to spend the upcoming Christmas holidays with his family," the statement said.
Graham, whose new book “Nearing Home” was released in October, was treated for pneumonia in May of this year.
