Arizona's Law Office of Corso & Rhude Giving Away Holiday Hams

The Law Office of Corso & Rhude is giving away free hams in December through its Facebook page. From Dec. 1 through Dec. 22, the Peoria law firm will give away one ham per day to Arizona residents who first “like” and then post a comment on the company’s Facebook page, located at Facebook.com/corsorhude. Arizona residents are eligible to enter once per day by adding a comment to that day’s holiday ham giveaway post. An entrant can enter as often as they like but can only win once.

In addition to entering the contest, Facebook visitors will also find fun holiday tips, holiday dinner cooking tips and helpful legal information on the Corso & Rhude page. “The holiday season is a perfect time to give back to the community that we love,” said John Rhude, law partner at Corso & Rhude, “and holiday hams are always a hit.”

Christopher Corso, Rhude’s partner at the Law Office of Corso & Rhude said the promotion will help his law firm spread the word for Arizona residents to be extra cautious this holiday season. “The holiday season is a special time of year and we all look forward to the parties,” he said. “But it’s also a time when we need to be extra vigilant. This is the time of year when the most lives are lost due to drunk driving. We’re hoping to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving while also spreading holiday cheer.”

According to a 2009 Forbes magazine study, the holiday season is the deadliest for accidents involving drunk drivers. Thanksgiving is the deadliest of DUI related holidays with an average of 567 deaths per year, with Christmas Day (404 deaths) and New Year’s Day (401 deaths) also making the top five of deadliest holidays each year. Rhude believes many people let their guard down during the holiday season.

“DUI task forces are in high gear during the month of December,” he said. “Many people make the mistake of getting behind the wheel after the office party and it can lead to disastrous results.”

Rhude and his law partner Christopher Corso know from experience the Arizona DUI problems that can arise during the holiday season. Both attorneys previously prosecuted DUIs, DWIs and OUIs for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Combined, Corso and Rhude have handled more than 15,000 DUI cases as prosecutors and defense attorneys. Arizona law requires that any person found guilty of drinking and driving (even a first offense) serve jail time. And DUI convictions can also include extensive fines up to $2,500, suspension of driving privileges and the installation of an ignition interlock device – even for first offenders.

“DUI is a serious offense and something that no person should take lightly,” Corso said. “When you’re armed with the facts, it makes it even more vital that you have a designated driver if you plan on drinking at holiday parties and get-togethers.”

In addition to DUI defense, the Law Office of Corso & Rhude handles all criminal defense cases, including domestic violence defense, possession of drugs, felony drug charges, photo radar, criminal speeding, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession. The experienced criminal speeding defense lawyers at Corso & Rhude serve clients throughout Arizona, including the cities of Ahwatukee, Avondale, Buckeye, Chandler, El Mirage, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Mesa, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sun City, Surprise, Tempe, Tolleson and Youngtown.
