Alec Baldwin’s love of the mobile game Words With Friends got him kicked off an American Airlines flight this week. Baldwin was escorted off the plane Tuesday afternoon after apparently not listening to a flight attendant's instructions to turn off all electronic devices.
American Airlines defended their actions. "Our flight attendants followed federal safety regulations regarding electronic devices," the carrier tweeted after the incident.
"We do our best to treat all customers with the utmost respect regardless of who they are,” American Airlines added.
Baldwin also took to Twitter to speak out about his removal. "Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving," the 53-year-old wrote. "No wonder American Air is bankrupt."
The 30 Rock star later caught another American Airlines flight out of Los Angeles, but he vowed it would be his last. "Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants,” he tweeted.
Baldwin’s rep also released a statement. “Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing Words with Friends while parked the gate. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it, but he has already boarded another AA flight,” the rep said.
