Barbara Orbison, the widow of rock ‘n’ roll star Roy Orbison, has died. According to reports, Orbison passed away at a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday -- the 23rd anniversary of Roy’s death. Orbison had been battling pancreatic cancer. She was 60.
Barbara and Roy met in Leeds, England in 1968. They married the following year in Nashville and settled in Hendersonville, Tennessee where they went on to raise three sons. After Roy died of a heart attack in 1988 at the age of 52, Barbara continued to release his work through her Orbison Records label.
An Orbison family spokesperson says Barbara will be buried next to her husband at L.A.’s Westwood Village Memorial Park. She is survived by her three sons.
