Legendary actor Harry Morgan, best known for his Emmy-winning role as Colonel Sherman T. Potter on M*A*S*H, has died. According to reports, Morgan passed away Wednesday at his Los Angeles home. His son Charles said he recently battled pneumonia. Morgan was 96.
Morgan first began acting while attending the University of Chicago in 1935. He starred in several Broadway productions before his silver screen debut in To the Shores of Tripoli in 1942. Morgan went on to star in more than 100 films and TV shows. Some of his film credits include How The West Was Won, The Far Country and High Noon. In addition to M*A*S*H, Morgan starred in popular TV shows like Pete and Gladys, December Bride and Dragnet.
Morgan is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara Bushman, and three sons from his first marriage to Eileen Detchon.
